We are looking for Full-Time or Part-Time experienced sewing machinist – seamstress to sew various textile products such as cushion covers, pillow cases, tea towels, hats, zipper pouches etc

At Digital Fabrics we create custom textile products and offer on-demand cut and make product services for artists, textile designers, photographers, event and marketing brands. All products that we produce are printed and made locally in our manufacturing studio in Marrickville with a focus on high quality finishes.

For this position you need to have solid seamstress experience and be able to easily operate industrial straight plain sewing machine and overlocker. Understand various fabrics types, homeware and garment manufacturing technology, machine basic maintenance and threading.

We are looking for a great team member and offer flexible working hours to suit your lifestyle – full time or part-time – you can work school hours!

We require an immediate start, as our friendly small team under pre-Christmas deadline pressure. Some training will be provided.

Pay depends on experience and hours worked.

We are hiring part-time Community and Digital manager to provide our customers with the best possible support in digital space and build and inspire our creative online community. 

We are looking for a team member with relevant community building and supporting experience who understand and easily navigate digital space. Loves and thrives on communicating with likeminded people, and would love to share their passion about all things creative: textile design, fabric, printing, crafting sewing or DIY.  


This job is for you if you: 

  • Are available for immediate start

  • Have customer service/support experience and thrive on helping people 
  • Organised and business minded 
  • Savvy in social media space 
  • Have some knowledge of fabrics, textile design or fabric printing 
  • live in Sydney or able to travel to Sydney for team catch ups, it will be a bonus 


Position key responsibilities: 


Online customer support via email and online platforms; Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, LinkedIn. Answering comments and direct messages, offering advice and participating in various industry discussions online. 

Organising and hosting online design competitions via Instagram. Writing a copy for newsletter and blog post, tracking competition entries and communicating with participants. 

Regularly optimising and updating our social media platforms. Updating BIO, links, imagery, products etc. 

Managing The Designer Project collaborations, onboarding and supporting designers throughout the project.  

  • Collecting necessary information from designers 
  • Checking files for production 
  • Adding data to CRM 
  • Publishing products on our online shop 
  • Writing and publishing blog post 
  • Keeping track of the project 
  • Working with our team on marketing and sales strategy for The Designer Project 


This job offers remote work opportunity and flexible hours 5-15 hours a week depending on the projects at the time.

This opportunity is perfect for someone wanting to gain experience in textile design development and learn digital print fabric production.

Our internships run for 3 months, with flexible days between Monday and Friday to work around your other commitments.

If you are available 2-3 days a week, have a passion for textile design, a can-do attitude and basic knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, come join our creative team!

You will learn:

  • Fabric print design development from moodboard to final print
  • Artwork resizing and scaling of designs
  • Digitization of hand-drawn artwork, including modification and preparation of the artwork for digital manipulation
  • Preparation of artwork and putting it into a seamless repeat ready for digital printing
  • Design print layout
  • Creating additional cohesive colourways to support your existing prints, fashion look or collection
  • Colour changing and manipulation
  • How digital fabric printing works
